født = born; is geb. an abbreviation for something similar?
German for born.
geboren = born
Both geboren & født translate as born. There is a subtle difference I am not seeing? Is it male, female or some other nuance?
geboren is German, født is Danish. You will find gest. as well. It is shortened from ist gestorben = died, I think døde is Danish for died. I haven't done much Danish research, just a bit for my sister in law. I've done more cemetery searches in German for my wife's German from Russia side.
Could be short for geburstag, German for birthday.
